I’ve been sitting on something I couldn’t wait to talk about, and today I finally get to: my book about dreaming is coming out, and I invite everyone to the launch! Dream Your Self into Being, available March 16th (paperback, eBook, eAudio book read by me), signing at Chevalier’s in Larchmont Village, Los Angeles.
The entire journey of this book has been a dreaming one, and has me putting into practice all that I teach others about the one-two steps dance to creating our life by letting dreams bubble up from our innermost self and then doing the practical work to manifest them in our waking reality. It’s been a journey of tackling fears, practicing being very still and listening, and recognizing that dreaming is both individual and communal.
There is no “writing a book” – writing is just the first steps, from there it becomes an entirely collaborative event with editors, designers, strategists and more to actually birth it into being. And, as dreaming always delivers gifts unforeseen, I have been absolutely overjoyed and blessed to work with the most incredible group of people, and have grown greatly in the process. To all of them I am thankful for all time, and will work to continue to find ways of expressing that gratitude.
And now I am thrilled to bring in all of you in the greater dreaming community to ‘walk the dream’ with me. In the spring of 2011 I woke from having dreamt this book in its entirety. I wrote it down in my journal, and then in trepidation put it aside. Really?! Yes, I did! But dreaming is insistent, and so after three urgent dreams I pulled it back out and began to put pen to paper. But as I’ve said in a recent interview, a written work only comes into itself when it meets the Other. In other words, creations are like a baby in the womb – they don’t breathe and come into their own personalities until they move in the outside world. Van Gogh painted some great paintings… but they come to life inside me when I stand in front of them in response.
When I dreamed the dream of this book I simply responded to the necessity to write it and bring it into being. As it began to take shape, I gave it the intention that it help people worldwide to learn the transformative power of their imaginations, and the tools for working with their dreams to become the greatest versions of themselves. I have experienced and witnessed potentials coming alive over and again through the years of doing this work and know how powerful it is. As I personally march toward making the world a brighter, more creative and joyful place I say: Let’s start a Dreaming Revolution!
Happy dreaming,
Bonnie
